Maintenance

Routine Bike Care

With our appointment-only policy and flexible scheduling we can often get your bike turned around and fixed up faster than other shops. Here are our rates for some of the standard repair jobs.

  • Tune-up and lube/clean - $85. This includes removing & cleaning the cassette, lubing the chain & cables, inspecting the wheel & BB bearings, pedals, top to bottom inspection for all fasteners to make sure they are properly tightened, removing and re-talcing tires/tubes to ensure you can easily fix flats out on the road, and finally polishing the bike with frame prep to make it shine & make the dirt come off easier next time around. We'll make any adjustments needed to get your shifting working and ensure the brakes are dialed in for maximum stopping power.
  • Replacing cables - $35 labor plus parts. Includes brake and derailleur cables. New cables can make a big difference in shifting and braking performance. Keep them in tip-top shape to get the most out of your equipment.

Not-So-Routine

We can perform less-routine maintenance if you need something extra done to get your bike back in shape.

  • Bottom bracket bearing replacement/upgrade - $50 labor plus parts. We highly recommend taking the opportunity to upgrade to Phil Wood bearings, they are way smoother than stock bearings that come in Shimano and FSA BB's, and way more durable (and cheaper) than ceramic bearings that are all the rage these days.
  • Wheel truing - $30 per wheel. Once a wheel gets out of true, it means the spoke tension is unbalanced and the overall stability of the wheel is greatly compromised. We'll make sure that not only is the wheel straight & round, but also balanced and ready for many more miles of hard riding.
