Bike Fit - Before You Visit
Here are a few notes to help ensure you get the most out of your fit appointment.
Equipment Prep
Occasionally riders bring in a bike that has a seatpost frozen in the frame, or cleats that are permanently attached to the shoes with corrosion. We hate to see a client spend lots of money for a fit and go away with their bike not right. Unfortunately we can't allocate time to correct these basic maintenance deficiencies during the fit appointment. Please take a few minutes to check the following prior to the fit:
- Make sure the seatpost can be loosened and will move inside the frame
- Make sure the stem can be loosened and moved on the steering tube
- Make sure the bolts holding your cleats on your shoes can be loosened
If you are not sure about any of this, let us know when you call to schedule the appointment and we'll help you through it. We want to make sure you get the most out of your investment in the fit!
Attire
Obviously, bring your riding clothes. If you have the choice, the following is preferable:
- Sleeveless jersey - this makes it easier to locate a few key points in your shoulder
- Light colored clothing (socks, shorts and jersey) tend to show up best on the video camera and make it easiest to track your motion. Black shorts with a colored side panel are just as effective.
