Bike Fitting
Bike fitting is a major part of our business and we want to ensure that you get the most out of the experience when you visit us for a fit. We offer two levels of service depending on your budget and what exactly you are trying to achieve.
Summary
Here is the brief summary of the fit services we offer. More details on each one are found below.
- Pro-Fit: $275, takes 2-3 hours, uses Wobblenaught/Dartfish system
- Second or third bike: $90 for Pro-Fit clients
- Fit consultation: $65, takes about an hour
Pro-Fit
Our Pro-Fit service is based on the Wobblenaught system, which combines a deep understanding of the musculo-skeletal system with years of experience fitting professional racers. We collect over 30 measurements on your skeletal system, take a history of your riding and training background, watch you ride the bike, then make adjustments starting from the bottom up - first the cleats, then saddle height, angle, and setback, then finally the stem and handlebars. When you're done you'll leave with detailed measurements of your original fit and any changes we made.
We'll also video tape you on the bike, before we adjust the fit and after. We use the Dartfish software, a powerful tool to analyze your pedaling dynamics and help you take maximum advantage of the bike fit. Clients should budget 3 hours for a fit.
The cost is $275. Bring a second or third bike with you and we can set that up for $90. A second pair of shoes can get the cleats adjusted for $15.
Sometimes a fit requires component changes and we stock a full size run of Ritchey stems as well as seatposts from Thomson and Syncros. We offer significant component discounts to bike fit clients - we earn our money with expert advice, not component sales. If you should want to buy a bike from us within 6 months, your bike-fit fee counts toward the purchase, since all of our bike sales include a fit anyways.
Bike Fit Consultation
For recreational riders who want to ensure that they don't have any major issues with their fit and who want to simply improve their comfort level, we offer the fit consultation. The cost is $65, it takes less than an hour, and it involves you riding on an indoor trainer while we pepper you with questions. We'll make adjustments to the fit iteratively, use our well-trained eyeballs to observe your form and suggest changes to your form and position on the bike.
